"The Man Who Sold the World" is a song by singer-songwriter David Bowie released in November 1970. On November 18, 1993 the grunge band Nirvana covered the song for the MTV Unplugged series. The recorded album debuted at number one on the US Billboard 200 and was certified 8× platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. It also won the Best Alternative Music Performance at the 1996 Grammy Awards.
